Journalism Students Up For Top Award

rukiyah and emilyStudents on the current Bauer Journalism Programme are in the running for a prestigious award.

Rukiyah Khatun and Emily Reader have been nominated in the Student Journalist of The Year category of the IRN awards.

The awards are run in association with Sky News and can be thought of as the Oscars of commercial radio journalism. This year has seen a record number of entries.

The Student Journalist Award recognises an individual who ‘stands out from the crowd and excels in producing and presenting news content’.

Bauer Academy Director Courtnay McLeod said she was ‘delighted’ with the nominations.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 10th March 2016 at the Century Club in London where the ceremony will be hosted by Sky News and Sky Sports presenter Sarah-Jane Mee.
